1,001 NAVOSH SUCCESS STORIES

These successes are integral to our mission of keeping our people safe and healthy as our contribution to the Navy's mission. NAVOSH successes are our commitment to protect our workerforce from occupational hazards. You are invited to participate in this project to compile our success stories and tell the world.

CNO/N454 (Safety and Occupational Health Branch) invites you to identify recent occupational safety and health program accomplishments at your command. Help us identify the successes out there. Describe the distinctive events or elements that make your program a success, become a member of the Navy's 1,001 NAVOSH Success Stories team, and see your success story in print and on the N454 Home Page.

It's easy to become a member of N454's 1,001 NAVOSH Success Stories team. Put together a summary, comprehensive or brief, of the who, what, when, where, and maybe even why, of your occupational safety and health program's success or successes that set it apart from the rest. Photos, slides, and artwork are also welcome. You will be given full credit for your contribution unless you specifically request your identity be withheld.

This is a first for us, so we don't have a backlog of revered NAVOSH Success Stories to illustrate our point or to offer as illustrations. What we do have are examples of environmental success stories published in TODAY, America's Forces Protect the Environment, a periodical of Review America, a non-profit environmental awareness organization.

We provide these environmental examples to use as go-bys and to encourage and inspire you. After all, our NAVOSH professionals are the guardians of the lives and well being of our workforce; every worker who goes home to his or her family at the end of a work shift is a success story. Let's take due credit. We want to hear about the events and outcomes that are more than the so-called run-of-the-mill successes and share them with our NAVOSH colleagues and the rest of the Navy.
